Sunday October 4th - Ridgefield U1200 Beginner Open

Join us for a 4-round Swiss tournament (G/25; d5) open to both scholastic and adult players. 

All chess sets, clocks, and score sheets are provided on-site.

  • Date & Time: Sunday, October 4, 2026 | 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM

  • Location: Way of the Sword Fencing Club (21 Governor St, Ridgefield, CT)

  • Prizes: $100 1st Place | Trophies for Top U900, U450, & Unrated | Medals for all participants

  • Entry Fee: $30 Early Bird (through Sept 27) | $40 Late Entry

  • Capacity: Strictly limited to 16 seats (Active US Chess membership required)


Details and Registration

Wednesday Evening Open Play (3 sessions)
Open Play​ for scholastic and adult players, both beginner and intermediate.  Coach Kim will be on-site to provide group instruction, offer personal coaching tips, and analyze games.  All chess sets, boards, and clocks provided.  
​* Dates - October 7th, October 14th, October 21st
* Session times - Beginner (6:00 - 7:15 PM), Intermediate (7:15 - 8:30 PM)
​* Free for club members (and parents!) and first-time visitors, $10 drop-in fee for returning non-club members.
